While hoping for the best, I'm also expecting the *usual* from COP26. And I'm a relentless optimist. If anyone isn't quite sure what's happening at COP26 then check out this explainer
Don't get me wrong - I want to believe that our combined governments can pull together a set of stretching, appropriate commitments and targets which then outlast the rhetoric and result in meaningful change.
That bring us back on track for 1.5degC.
That avert our climate emergency.
But whether the commitments are up to the task, whether what happens in the weeks and months post COP26 delivers against these targets, or whether the targets and government actions fall short, there is still hope.
The task of solving the climate emergency isn't just with our leaders, though it would help if they can get there combined acts together.
The solutions lie with US. As individuals, as families, as business owners, as employees. As citizens and as voters.
Every change matters. Every small thing you can do - every choice, every single item you do (or don't) purchase, every journey you take.
I love this great and informative piece from Rupert Read published today.
